9 Year Old Girl Football Star – Sam Gordon – Football Player Highlights

Don’t we just love watching people do funny and fantastic things?

I love how a video is uploaded online and next thing you know it, it’s a YouTube sensation like 9-year old Sam Gordon. That girl is fast on her feet and should very well be called Sam “The Flash” Gordon!

As representatives or children of God, we reflect what God is like to the outside world. How does the outside world see us? How do they respond to us? Are we a threat? Do we intrigue them? Are we hated? Are we liked?

We’ll see in Chapter 4, how Peter and John ruffle some religious feathers and cause them to throw a big hissy fit.

Act 4:1 – Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,

Act 4:2 – being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Act 4:3 – And they laid hands on them, and put [them] in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

The Sadducees are like some of the leaders in the local churches today. Churches become dependent on the support of their members to keep the machine running. And when another church or person becomes a threat to their enterprise (even their own), the ugly monster comes out. They love to point out “specks” when in fact they got a plank in their eye. I call this churchanity capitalism i.e. organized religion operating like a business, competing with other churches and making merchandise out of God’s people. Sadly, it’s the same m-o for pimps.

Act 4:4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

Woot! That looks like another revival to me. 5,000 plus the 3,000 earlier! The Good News is going viral.

Let’s try to visualize what 5,000 looks like. (I’m putting on my math brain…you should too.) If a school bus holds about 70 people, it would fill about 72 buses. If each bus is 45-ft long and parked in a straight line would roughly be 3,300-ft (give or take the separation between each bus). A football field is 360-ft so that would make it about 9 football fields long of school buses.

Act 4:5 And it came to pass, on the next day, that their rulers, elders, and scribes,

Act 4:6 as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

Sounds like what they did to Jesus and I’m sure they would love to crucify them too.

Act 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, “By what power or by what name have you done this?”

Do they really want to know or do they already know the answer? Well, Peter is going to spice things up and release the Holy Spirit on them….

I tell yea the Holy Spirit is like a train, if you try to stop it, you’ll look like a pressed penny.

Please watch the below re-enactment of this chapter and we’ll continue the rest in the next post.
